self care, self love, self journey (part 2)

So my life has changed a lot recently, something happened that seemed to change everything and I guess you don't realise how much 1 thing can make your whole world feel like its crashing down. I say my life has changed a lot recently, thats not all true I am working and searching for a full time position in the fashion industry, still don't have my own car, still having tests regarding my stomach and I am still working at my part time job. So that stuff is the same and right now it's become much more apparent and frustrating as it ever has been. But something big in my life changed...no I am not going to go in detail and explain it, sorry but it's personal and I guess I don't feel ready to talk about it yet as it still feels pretty fresh.

But I wanted to write this blog post because through all the shit that seems to be going down in my life right now a whole new attitude and a whole new side of me has been emerging and I am pretty excited about exploring it. As a person I have always been older than my time as people would say, always sensible, serious, putting others first and I never really let loose. I am all about routine, familiarity and an end goal. But recently thats all changed, I don't want to just be all those things I want to have fun, enjoy being young, write a bucket list and just live a little. It may sound silly because I am only 21 and it sounds like I never have fun, its not that at all its the fact I don't really explore things, I don't really try new things and I always live by others. Now I don't want to and whats happened has seem to bring out this side of me. The side of me that lets my hair down, puts myself first, does more and well lets goes a little.

When shit things in life happens theres 2 ways of dealing with it, either you get pretty low, feel sorry for yourself always crying and start overthinking everything. But then theres the other side, pulling out the positives, planning things, focusing on yourself and self care, letting loose a little and just looking to the future. Thats what I am doing, don't get me wrong times are crap sometimes, but I am all for focusing on the future and I heavily believe in the quote 'everything happens for a reason'. I can't control whats happening in my life but I can control how I feel and try to find the positive in it. So I thought, what could I do to really get this side of me out...so I wrote a bucket list.

My bucket list is getting bigger and bigger by the day, but I am so excited to tick everything off and I never would have wrote one if this didn't happen. So far I have ticked off a couple of things such as continuing to work out, I got a piercing and I booked a girls trip to Dublin with my best friend. I have so much on the list such as going to disneyland, get a tattoo and go on a hot air balloon. All things I don't know when I will achieve but I will because I have never wanted to do all this stuff more than I do right now. My life right now seems uncertain I don't really know whats round the corner for me career wise or personally and I just want to enjoy the ride instead of dwelling on it. Sometimes in life you get knocked back in so many aspects that something finally hits you and focusing on yourself and even accessing a new side of yourself becomes the main focus of everything.

With everything thats happening in my life career wise, personally, basically all the elements that are negative right now has made me realise that life is too short. Everything can change so quickly and were not in control of it. Life throws you punches and I say lets punch back, be strong and get through the shit. Appreciate the moments, be surrounded by the people that mean the most, laugh a lot and lighten up, show people you love them and never give up on yourself. Because at the end of the day you came into this world alone and you will leave it alone, sounds brutal but it's true. So continue to be passionate, fight for what you believe in, be determined, learn as much as you can and be the best version of yourself...for yourself.

I did a post on self care right when my world did come crashing down and I guess this is a follow on from that post and where I am at now. As ever this is a personal one and I am being completely honest with my writing, so if your going through a shit time know that your not alone and keep your chin up! Life is full of ups and downs, enjoy the ride.

Caseapp X That Fashion Bambi

I couldn't wait to share my latest collaboration with you as this is something I really enjoyed doing and I loved the creative elements to this collab. I worked with Caseapp to create my very own custom laptop skin, custom iPad skin and custom iPhone case. This was such a fun way to create items that reflect me, my style, my blog and what I like visually. As you know I have a degree in fashion so anything creative I am in. I am a simplistic and minimal stylist and photographer so for me I wanted to create products that all matched and worked as a group. I also wanted them to feel personal to me and have my stamp on them which is why I used my blog name and my initials. I also loved that the design process was completely free to create your own quotes, background colours, personalised photographs, the designing is completely up to you.

I have a love for all things marble and I am a sucker for a classic monochrome colour scheme so for me I knew I wanted to have that as my basis. I would be taking my iPad/laptop/phone to work, and they would be on show publicly so I wanted them to look professional yet have my own touch to them. Caesapp lets you have complete control and you really do create everything yourself, its great for someone creative who wants to play around with colour and text or someone who wants to gift an item and personalise it with a special photograph or date. It's a website which really does let you just be yourself, if your someone who wants a existing background but wants to add your stamp on it like I did there is hundreds of backgrounds which you can use and personalise. That way the designing element doesn't get overwhelming with the amount of choices. You can start from scratch or just update and personalise a design which is already available. It's great and so much fun.

I had a play around with colours, quotes, images etc and I'm not gonna lie I was trying out so many different things for about an hour, then realised no sam make something that is you not what you think is cool. I was trying for the whole summer vibe with palm trees and lots of quotes but nothing seemed very me. So like I said before, I found there was so many options so I had a look through the skins/cases that they already had, found the black marble and decided I wanted to work around those! So my blank canvas became a marble background.

Then to go with my monochrome concept I wanted the writing to be white. Each item I wanted to be slightly different so I designed the iPhone case first. I love the whole initial trend and how you can basically get your initials on anything so I thought why not have it on my phone case. It's simplistic yet personalised. Then I moved onto my iPad skin, this I wanted to really reflect my blog because I always take my iPad to interviews as it has all my portfolio on it and so I wanted that to connect. My blog has become a huge part of what I do and I wanted my blog name to be apart of my collection of products too. I used the icon of a diamond underneath for no other reason that I liked it, I thought it added something to the skin instead of just my blog name. Again it's another simplistic case but is effective and also a conversation starter.

Then finally I created my laptop skin, I wanted a skin which brought the collection together as I wanted it to have all the elements of marble, monochrome and context. So I created a split marble case and kept the top of the case clean white so I could have a quote at the top. Because I had already used my blog name and initials for the other two products I thought it would be cool to add a bit of fun and use a quote or saying I believe in, because lets be honest everyone loves a good quote. So I used Live,Laugh,Love as it's a classic and yes it's very overused but I still love the simplicity of it. It finished off my collection nicely.

They also do pretty much every phone, every laptop, every iPad etc so there is lots of options for old and new products. They are the perfect gift ideas for someone who is abit of a techy or loves a new phone case. I love the personal element and that no one will have the case you create because your making it yourself. Not to mention the quality and ease of the products. They are super easy to put onto your laptop so don't worry about making a skin, its super simple and easy to apply. Then the cases, you can choose between matte and shine, I went for the matte case as I really liked the look and again the quality is great.

The website is easy to use and easy to navigate, there are so many cases, so many styles, so many skins, so many designs. It's a portal of creativity at great prices and with my discount code it makes your items that bit cheaper. A personal present for someone you care about or a treat to yourself which can be used for business purposes or personal use. Caesapp lets you do any of that, no questions asked. I loved having a play around and finding out what I like and you can save designs as you go. That way you don't have to decide which one you prefer there and then. You can keep designing and they will be all there ready for you to decide. Get prepared and order a personalised gift or simply treat yourself because you deserve it.
Quick, easy, stylish and ready to go!

Don't forget to use my code, get designing and have some fun creating your very own custom product!
